The all-powerful NRA has become a dangerous, extremist organization, with total control over Congress, blocking all common sense efforts at gun control. Today, anyone can buy any number of semiautomatic weapons at gun shows, at private sales, as easily as buying candy, with no ID and no background checks. A child can own an assault weapon. Clips and drums containing up to 100 rounds of ammunition are available, making a gun a Personal Weapon of Mass Destruction capable of killing dozens in seconds. America is an international gun bazaar. Guns purchased legally in the US are exported illegally to feed drug wars in Mexico and Central America. The NRA claims the real enemy is any form of regulation, and implies it will resist with violence if threatened. It is time. This tyranny must end.
