End the Unconstitutional War on Drugs

Created by R.N. on July 20, 2014

The "war" on drugs is unconstitutional. According to the 10th amendment of the US constitution, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution... are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." This means that anything not amended to the constitution is left up to the states, and the people thereof. Since the Federal Government has not drafted, nor ratified, an amendment in relation to drugs it nullifies all federal laws and restrictions, and then leaves the legality, regulation, and/or distribution of drugs to the states and their voters. Without a ratified amendment concerning drugs (their restrictions, consumption age, etc) any act committed by the Federal Government (including incarceration, confiscation, etc) is in direct violation of the constitution.
