End the United States embargo against Cuba/the Cuban embargo

The Cuban Embargo has become the longest trade embargo in modern history. Cuba is now the only country restricted under the Trading with the Enemy Act. The United Nations General Assembly – for the 21st year in a row – called on the United States to end its trade embargo with Cuba. Cuba, along with Iran, Sudan, and Syria are the only 4 countries in the world to still be deemed by the U.S. Department of State as “state sponsors of terrorism”. No longer included on this list, however, is Libya along with Iraq and North Korea – two countries which were once considered the “Axis of Evil”. This embargo undermines the civility of the United States and reinforces allegations of U.S. hypocrisy. It has only strengthened the Cuban military regime at the expense of the innocent Cubans.
