End the unrealistic standards portrayed by advertising within American beautification and apparel companies

Created by K.L. on January 31, 2015

Currently in America many people from children to adults are feeling ashamed by the way they look. This is in large part caused by advertising from companies particularly in apparel and cosmetic industries trying to promote a product by creating unrealistic standards, often through edited images that are false in nature. This is an act of libel and a flagrant grievance on the American and global populace and has been linked to psychological stress and trauma from all age groups, genders, and races. This petition is aimed to cease the portrayal of humans and human replicas within advertising of topical and applicable goods (aimed at human beautification or apparel) and instead to limit modeling as the product on a uni-sex manikin or by its self.
