End U.S. Cellphone Market Monopolization by Major Carriers and Giving the Consumer the Freedom to Pick the Sellers

Created by W.Z. on April 09, 2014

The U.S. consumers have to buy cellphones from one of the major cellphone service carriers and sign a service contract or use their service for a certain days even though paying the cellphone in a full price. The consumers who’s getting free phones or paying portion of the phones may end up paying more. All phone costs are actually passed to the consumers on the monthly service fee. There are factory unlocked cellphones but not all the phones have an unlocked version available that works under U.S. 4G network. The conspiracy between major cellphone service carriers and manufacture further hurts the consumers’ rights and benefits. The consumers should be able to walk in an electronic store to buy a cellphone like any other electronic devices instead of signing a contract to buy one.
