Foreign spouses of U.S. citizens living overseas are required to undergo continuous residency and physical presence, while others (e.g., spouses of U.S. military members, U.S. government contractors, etc., who reside outside the U.S.) are not. This is very unfair, especially to those who have been married for years and live and work outside the U.S. to better support themselves. These people still pay their taxes, if required, but choose to live and work outside the U.S. They are no different than those who are exempt from continous residency and physical presence requirements.
