End The U.S. Embargo Against Cuba

Created by W.F. on February 24, 2013

Cuba is no longer a threat to the U.S. because its main defender and our foe the U.S.S.R. was dissolved with the conclusion of the Cold War.The Cuba Policy Foundation estimates the U.S. loses out on $4.84 billion annually in lost exports and costs us 6,000 potential jobs.51% of Americans want to open trade with Cuba versus 29% who do not.The embargo was enacted over 50 years ago to force the Cuban government to switch to democracy. With the Castro regime still in power the embargo has failed and there is no reason to believe a continuation will change anything in the future. The only ones to suffer are the Cuban people who are denied access to technology, medicine, food, ideas, information and the ability to travel freely to view firsthand the wonders and gifts of American democracy.
