The good, peace-loving citizens of Syria are being killed and held hostage in their cities and towns due to the ongoing violence in Syria. The Free Syrian Army is a voice for only a small minority within Syria and do not represent the majority of Syrian citizens.
Evidence strongly suggests that the FSA is largely made up of foreign elements, including the same insurgents that were killing American soldiers and innocent civilians in neighboring Iraq. What if the people the the US has been fighting against for the last 10 years were to set up a regime next door?
Instead of aiming to oust Assad by any means, the US government should consider the average Syrian Men, Women, and Children who only want to live in peace and do not want to participate in a conflict stoked by foreign interests.
