End the use of the description "assault weapon" for weapons that are categorically NOT assault weapons

The Gun Digest Book of Assault Weapons was the first place I had seen the term "assault weapon". They just named it that because of all the guns that looked like actual assault weapons. Diane Fienstien literally thumbed through this book and looked at tge pretty pictures to determine what she decided puts a weapon in the "assault weapon" category. It didn't matter if a feature was functional. It only mattered that it looked dangerous. Many weapons of various types ended up on her list. But none were actual assault weapons. A true assault weapon has a "select-fire" switch enabling the user to switch between single fire or multi-fire(machine gun). No gun available to the public does this. End the use of the term "assault weapon" on those guns that fire only one rd per trigger pull.
