The way the electoral votes works makes it possible for your vote not to count. For example 6,177,882 voters in California voted for Obama and 4,247,465 voters voted for somebody other than Obama. Yet Obama received all the electoral votes. By this standard the 4,247,465 voters who didn't vote for Obama didn't have their voice heard.
In total 54,005,798 people voted for a non-winning party in their state. Which means 43.94% of votes did not count.
Lets change this by making everybody's vote count and revert to a popular vote for all elections, that way your voice, my voice, and everybody's voice can be heard.
