Instead of having a big conglomeration of VA hospitals and clinics which Veterans have to seek out for medical care when it is needed, issue each soldier a Group Insurance Card at the time of discharge duty (only for those discharged with General Under Honorable Conditions or Honorable status at time of separation) which he or she can use at any hospital, clinic, or private doctor's office he or she chooses.
Private hospitals and clinics pay their doctors and support staff based on experience and pay increases are based on performance. This will not only provide a simple solution to the Veteran care issue, it will also save a significant amount of money in operating costs for government operated clinics and hospitals and put more healthcare workers in the private sector.
