The goal of this petition is to end the ongoing unfair employment practices instituted by federal laws that mandate preference for military veterans in the hiring process at all federal agencies.
While we all acknowledge and salute the enormous sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform to serve our country and that such sacrifices warrant the highest payback from the nation, a blanket policy that extends employment prefence to all veterans including those who've never been to a battlefield or let alone been injured, seems very irrational.
This petition thus calls on congress to amend existing federal laws governing employment of veterans. Veterans preference should be limited to injured and/or disabled veterans only.
Meritocracy is currently being sacrificed!
