Chapter 61 disabled military retirees deserve the equality of their Brothers and Sisters that were able to serve 20 years.
A Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine that is gravely injured before reaching 20 years of service is retired from the military as disabled. They are compensated for their disabilities, but the retirement that they were working towards is gone.
The same warriors that reach 20+ years are entitled to both their retirement, and their disabilities.
A Marine that is hit by an IED at 18 years of service deserves a retirement, calculated at a fair rate for the time in service.
