This war began in the Bush administration with good intentions at the time, to protect ourselves from Terrorist attacks. However now, the war has become irrelevant and antiquated. Promoting freedom and peace in the region may or may not have any returned as ultimately the Afghan people must be able to control themselves. This war has cost too many lives and put us a a situation of a 16 trillion dollar deficit. Our troops need to come home, the US no longer has interests there and all counterterrorism can be done by the CIA or other organizations. There is no need for this to continue any longer. Please for the lives of our soldiers, the safety of our economy and our respect for those who gave their lives for freedom sign this petition.
