Unlike Israel though, 2-3 years of military service is not mandatory here, and too few civilians outside of law enforcement have extensive formal weapons training or experience in tactical combat exercises to possibly cover the country's ~132,000 elementary and secondary schools.
However, we do have an active military population of over 1.4 million. Why continue this costly war and continuing deaths of Americans & innocents when they can be employed here instead? We could easily assign qualified pairs to schools if prioritized like marshals for air travel.
