End the War on Drugs

Created by L.B. on November 21, 2012

The War on Drugs is far too costly to continue. It also mainly targets people of color and is thus discriminatory in that nature.

Far too many of our prisons are over filled with non-violent offenders.

It's a failed policy that spends billions of dollars putting non-violent offenders in jail rather than rehabilitating people or regulating the substances to insure safety.

Due to the nature in which it's gone about, it creates a breeding ground for HIV/AIDs as well as other blood born STIs to spread. The War on Drugs does not work in deterring people from doing drugs, and makes those who use needles to inject drugs reuse needles to lessen the chance of being caught doing drugs. That is where the STI risk comes from.
