End the War on drugs!!

The war on drugs brought on my President Richard Nixon has been nothing but a complete failure from day one of being enacted into law. It is nothing more than a prohibition as like the prohibition against alcohol from 1919 to 1933. The war on drugs has done nothing but hurt as a nation, there have been too many deaths resulting from the cartels trying to get the drugs across the border that could have easily been prevented. The D.O.J spends over $40,000,000,000 a year on the ridiculous war and we still see more drugs on our streets than ever before. The people that are going to do illicit drugs will do them regardless if they are legal or not. We as a nation need to treat drug addiction and abuse as a medical condition and not a crime, it does nothing more than hurt innocent people.
