end the war on drugs.

Created by F.L. on November 10, 2014

As it stands, the War on Drugs is a 40 year, $1 Trillion dollar failure of the United States. Not only has this effort to reduce the use and trade of illicit narcotics been ineffective, but it has also been costly, been an outlet for institutionalized racism, has widened the class disparity, and criminalized drug users without treating the underlying causes of addiction. It is time for us to admit that this policy started during the Nixon administration has been a failure. It may be difficult to come to terms with, but for the future of our nation and the safety of our citizens and law enforcement alike we MUST move past this ineffective prohibition. It must also be noted, that opposition to the War on Drugs is NOT to condone drug use.
