For more than 30 years, the Federal Government has been in a war against citizens for the use of illicit substances. There have been no gains made on this front. Addiction rate has remained constant from the beginning, although funding has dramatically increased.
On a perspective of liberty, many of those affected by the war on drugs are low income families and those of non-white racial groups who are targets of law-enforcement.
There is no discussion on the subject of drugs, and those that use are not helped properly. There is a lack of unbiased studies on these substances and because of this, we have, as a society, taken a stance of ignorance because nobody will speak out against the absurdity and irrationality of these laws imposed on our freedoms.
