Just as President Obama has said time and time again "the science has proven climate change is real", science has proven that the War on Drugs has actually caused the negative effects of drug use to grow exponentially and violently. Other countries such as Switzerland and Portugal have implemented Harm Reduction policies in regard to drugs and have had astonishing results. We as a people need to stop criminalizing drug addicts and begin to find ways to address this disease that does not cause widespread violence and incarceration.
