With the SEC giving HSBC a sweetheart settlement this week for laundering drug cartel money, it is clear that the War on Drugs has no moral basis for the current administration. If anything, it is an excuse to keep a two-tiered justice system where wealthy bankers get off scot-free for their crimes, and ordinary people's rights are stripped and they are brutally prosecuted for even minor offenses.
A two-tiered justice system is, frankly, un-American. "With liberty and justice FOR ALL." If you aren't going to prosecute the people who help finance murderous cartels, then you don't really care about the War on Drugs except as a means to oppress ordinary people. Do the right thing by the people of America and end this war on personal freedom and the senseless collateral damage it has caused.
