The war on drugs has been nothing short of futile since it began. I believe it, world leaders believe it, hey even Morgan Freeman believes so. We need to stop fighting wars we will not win. The money can be put to better use than the DEA(our infrastucture is one...).
It can be done, imagine a world where addicts can get help if wanted instead of taking up so much space in our prison system for something that's honestly no different than drinkning alcohol or smoking cigarettes.
When something is prohibited, you create a black market rather than solving the problem, and put the power into the hands of the irresponsible. So why not try something new?
We have more pressing matters to attend to like the sequestor, and joblessness ending the war on drugs could help both.
