The results that the War on Drugs has showed in the past 50 years is that it is a complete waste of time, money, and most importantly lives.
Prisons are being filled with drug users because they are seen as criminals rather than people that need help. Not only are the users arrested but so are the small petty dealers that supply them. This does not stop the multi-billion dollar industry but rather help create more opportunities.
This is a war that cannot be won and can only be compared to the mythical creature the hydra; you cut one head off two more grow back. It is about time to urge the leaders of this great country to rethink these policies and issues. I believe it is time for a more rational and realistic approach on this matter, and that the government should take notice.
