America has the largest prison population and highest incarceration rate, far from the land of the free I was taught I lived in. America was founded on the idea of liberty for all or in other words a place where anyone can do anything that doesn't directly infringe on other peoples liberty. And if my neighbor wants to use drugs it doesn't hurt me anymore than if he gets drunk. I know drug alcohol and private prison contractors spend billions lobbying to maintain the status quot, but you cant put a price on peoples lives. Sentencing someone to life in prison for a victimless crime is a crime. You said yourself you have smoked weed, I think if more people smoked weed school shootings wouldn't happen and the world would be a happier place. Finally it would free up police for real crimes.
