An arm of our Government must make an official stance against the War on Drugs as it pertains to Marijuana. Millions of people having their lives destroyed by prison who shouldn't and billions of tax dollars wasted on the War on Marijuana could be better spent on other things, such as infrastructure, national defense, education, or policing other more dangerous drugs. Marijuana's classification as a Schedule 1 drug, after years of evidence piling up for its incredible benefits medically and very small danger, is a travesty. Not only dollars saved from policing, but also tax dollars earned through government decriminalization and regulation would only be a boon for the economy. It is time to stop this insanity.
