The war on prescription drugs has created more collateral damage than positive results.
Please end the war on law abiding pain management patients who are in sincere need of pain relieving medications to maintain quality of life.
1) Launch an investigation into the DEA's mishandling of the pain medication shortage crisis.
2) Replace the current DEA leadership with new leadership that is capable of empathy as well as law enforcement.
3) Revise the DEA's mandate. The DEA is not only a law enforcement agency but a regulatory body, granting them far too much power with too little oversight.
4) Revoke the DEA's regulatory powers and move them to an agency that is not biased. The DEA owes it's very existence to the war on drugs.
5) Establish a mandatory summit to establish new solutions.
