If the goals we had for The War On Terror were to have less terrorism created well then the war has been a failure. Invading a country that didn't attack us (Iraq), taking down a dictator that posed no imidiate threat to us, and leaving a vacuum in the region where radicalism took its place attemting to control the region. A 2004 department of defence study found that "American itervention in the Muslim world has paridoxally elevated the stature of and support for radical Islamists." Between 1993-2003 the global terrorism data base reported roughly 20,000 terrorist incidents. 2003-2013 the number doubled to 49,000. We're an occupying force destroying families with 1.3 million civilian deaths. A former CIA interrogator wrote that terrorists use knowledge or torture at Guantanimo to recruit.
