The U.S. is now bombing people in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, and Pakistan, and tensions between the U.S. government and the Iranian government are escalating. These attacks continue even though al-Qaeda -- the enemy we supposedly went into war against in 2001 -- has been effectively defeated.
Continuing the War on Terror makes the U.S. and the rest of the world a more dangerous place, increasing anger towards Americans and inspiring further acts of violence here and abroad.
Only when the U.S. brings its soldiers home, stops bombing other nations, and stops imprisoning and assassinating people without due process can we again be an inspiration to the rest of the world instead of a common enemy. President Obama, we implore you to end the War on Terror once and for all.
