I have been reading a lot about big budget projects like the F-35 Joint Strike fighter and all the trouble it has been having. Projects like these seem to be more of a waste of limited government resources that could be better spent elsewhere on equipment that does work.
Public news sites like Wired and CNN have recently stated that this project in particular has experienced extensive cost overruns and that the project requirements were downgraded more then once to give the project a lower bar of success to reach for.
Obviously if the product isn't working it's not helping the troops. I would like to see unsuccessful projects like this terminated and the companies responsible for failing to meet the goals of the project held financially accountable for all the taxpayer money spent.
