The Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971 states:
"It is the policy of Congress that wild free-roaming horses and burros shall be protected from capture, branding, harassment, or death..."
Right now, the US has a "zero-herd" policy, meaning they are focused on eliminating the wild herds of the Wyoming Salt Wells and the Great Divide Basin. This is a senseless act, because these horses are a legacy to their areas. Our policy towards these herds contradicts US law:

...and 20 years, the US wild horse population will be completely eliminated. Help stop this unlawful and senseless policy; sign the petition today!
