We ask that President Obama endorse a Constitutional amendment stating that corporations are not people, and should not be accorded the rights of individuals, including the right to free political speech; and that giving money to political causes, because of its potential for corrupting the political process, should not be considered equivalent to political speech, as set forth in the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision. The corrupting influence of these two legal doctrines on the American political process threatens to undermine Americans' trust in that process.
