Endorse a federally mandated maternity leave for new mothers

Created by R.G. on May 17, 2013

The United States is the only developed country in the world that doesn't require employers to provide a paid leave of absence to new and expectant mothers. Pregnancy and birth are physically traumatic experiences that make working soon after birth incredibly difficult. As more and more single mothers have to raise and care for families, it's becoming more important to provide them reassurance that she can provide for herself and her family even after childbirth. We want the Obama administration to advocate and endorse a nationwide, paid, 3 month maternity leave for new and expectant mothers.
