Endorse the removal of the 10-year limitation on starting use of earned GI Bill benefits.

Created by D.R. on July 30, 2013

Currently, veterans must begin use of GI Bill benefits within ten (10) years of discharge, or they forfeit the use of them completely.

We petition the Administration to urge that this time limit be removed, and benefits be restored to those veterans who have lost them.

Veterans paid money, time, and sometimes life and limb to earn these benefits, and artificially limiting the time frame for use is both unfair and an insult to their honor and devotion to duty and country. We chose to serve - it should be our choice when to use the benefits we earned.
