The 27th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution was ratified on May 7, 1992. It states “No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.”
This amendment of the Constitution has not been followed by Congress or the President due to political reasons. The Constitution is the backbone of our legal system and the guiding document of the American Civilization.
The Congress composed of the House of Representatives and the Senate has consistently received ILLEGAL pay raises since 1992.
The illegal raises should be returned to the U.S. Treasury with applicable interest.
The members of Congress and thePresident have sworn an oath to protect and defend the Constitution.
