At the end of the past two years, last minute negotiations on the fiscal cliff and debt ceiling have clearly shown Congress' willingness to take the American economy hostage in order to push political agendas, portraying the United States as a country of weak leaders.
Since our politicians are especially motivated to make promises to 'We the People' in the weeks before federal elections, we ask that all bills with expiration or renewal dates be set to expire on Election Day.
By moving expiration dates to Election Day, we will ensure that :
1. Important negotiations happen in a timely manner.
2. Negotiations occur during a time when the will of the people is of the utmost concern to our politicians.
3. Politicians are elected based on their ability to get things done.
