This is a citizens’ petition urging the President to fully and immediately enforce all existing laws relating to the use, sale and production of marijuana.
State laws authorizing the retail sales of marijuana severely threaten public health and safety goals, expressly contradict the President’s National Drug Control Strategy, make it impossible to comply with federal (drug-free workplace, and other) regulations, and present an obstacle to the achievement of Congress' discernible objectives to prohibit the use, sale, manufacture, and distribution of marijuana.
Out of respect for the thousands of parents, grandparents, other family members, and friends of people who have experienced the severe negative consequences of marijuana use, these laws must be “well and faithfully” enforced.
