There is not an american with a telephone who has not been victimized by telemarketers that blatantly violate the do not call registry by using robo calls or ignoring recipients wishes not to be called by telemarketers. The ONLY reason that they do this that we have weak laws that are not enforced. If our politicians want to latch onto an issue that would receive near 100% bipartisan support and instantly move their abysmal public approval ratings up, they could start by strengthening existing law and provide the FTC and/or regional US attorneys the resources to go after these fraudsters. If spoofing caller ID's or placing calls to those on the do not call registry became a felony, it would stop over night.
