For years YouTube has run an automated policy which allows any business, legitimate or not, to post a claim on any YouTube video. These claims can range from simple content violation to plaigarism, and can stop people who make a living through YouTube from earning any money. Worse, a company can claim that a video is their property, allowing them to earn the income that rightly belongs to the content creator. Even if the content creator gets this claim revoked, the money earned during that period, the money is not returned. This effectively makes the company a thief without legal ramifications.
The employees of YouTube, the content creators who work every day are being exploited. See http://channelawesome.com/wheres-the-fair-use/ for their side of the matter.
