Court-ordered child support should always be paid by the absent parent.
Usually when a man (or woman) elects not to pay court-ordered child support, their means of support (or wages) are garnished and given to their families. Unfortunately, disability checks through the VA are not allowed to be garnished for the purpose of support, or for any other "personal debt". Apportionments are available to the families of veterans, however it can take years to go through the claims process. In the meantime, the children have to suffer and go without.
Please help to right this wrong, because all children, including the children of veterans, are deserving the child support the courts have awarded them.
