American politics have become far too influenced by a zealous religious right that undermines the Founding Fathers' intentions. Proponents of non-scientific religious dogma disproportionately force their will on issues such as women's rights, gay rights, global warming, science education, science funding, abortion, and a host of others. The only way to restore sound government decision making is to base it on science and physical, direct evidence, rather than misinformation, outdated beliefs, and pagan myths. According to a 2004 BBC poll, over 34 million Americans claim no religion at all. Despite this, no modern American politician dare profess their agnosticism. It's time for America to reclaim it's secular government. We are NOT a nation ruled by religious zealots!
