This petition urges immediate law enforcement action on the part of the United States Federal Government to
a) end the unlawful armed occupation of federal buildings and public lands in the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, OR.
b) end the destruction of natural and archaeological resources on said lands.
c) end the desecration and damage to cultural heritage on said lands.
The armed occupation of buildings and lands of the MNWR that began on Jan. 2, 2016 is an affront to all U.S Citizens, to the communities of Harney County, OR. and the Burns Paiute Tribe in particular. Now the occupiers have begun road-building.
This unlawful armed occupation threatens violence to the community and federal government, causes harm to the MNWR, and sets an example of contempt for the rule of law.
