Colorado and Oregon recently repealed their statutes prohibiting marijuana (a.k.a. cannabis, pot, weed), leading many in those states to make recreational use of the psychoactive drug under the assumption that it is legal.
However, marijuana remains illegal at the Federal level. The Obama administration has decided not to enforce these laws as written.
Under the Constitution, the President does not possess the power to ignore laws that he finds distasteful. If you dislike a law, work to repeal it; do not simply ignore it!
I move for the White House to please enforce these laws as they are written. After all, those who drafted and signed it were concerned about the preservation of this great nation and our family values.
