enforce a Federal Minimum Wage that is a living wage

Created by B.C. on November 13, 2012

We need a minimum wage that somebody can actually live on. The 2012 hourly rate of $7.25 non-tipped and $2.13 tipped is not enough to live on. We need a new minimum wage that, by some commonsense standard, will allow somebody to live in comfort, health, and dignity. The 2012 amount should be something like $25 an hour, just like what a clerk working at 7-Eleven in Sweden would make.
