Enforce The First Amendment's Establishment Clause prohibiting religious & non-religious bias in government.

Created by R.H. on January 08, 2016

The First Amendment's Establishment Clause prohibits the government from making any law “respecting an establishment of religion.” This clause not only forbids the government from establishing an official religion, but also prohibits government actions that unduly favor one religion over another. It also prohibits the government from unduly preferring religion over non-religion, or non-religion over religion.
This petition is calling for an end to the major and unnecessary distraction that is religion from US Politics. Political candidates should not be allowed to promote themselves based on religion. Politicians should not be allowed to promote or deny laws and policies based on their religious bias. No religion determines who is a good person, a good leader, and what is a good law.
