I petition that animal rights laws be stricter. Punishments for abusing an animal should be harsher and the person should be unable to own another pet. Slaughterhouses and puppy mills in America should have to follow humane rules that allow for animals to live a decent life. Only 26 states have laws to prevent abuse in puppy mills. Animals should be contained in a free-range environment rather than locked in a tiny filthy cage and farm animals should be killed in a humane way rather than the way it is done now. As of now animal rights laws are not well enforced if even in place at all. There needs to be humane guidelines regarding the methods of housing, care, transportation, and slaughter of animals in large coorporations that deal with mass amounts of animals as well as individual cases.
