Enforce keeping 500-feet distance from front vehicle on any non-traffic-light highway - saving $/time/environment/lives

Created by D.Y. on November 14, 2012

Keeping 500-feet distance from front vehicle on any non-traffic-light highway will solve traffic jam problem without adding any lanes. Jams are caused by vehicles who are trying to change lanes (exit or block in front), not because we have too many cars (an highway or loop virtually infinite because we get on and off at some points), if no enough room to squeeze in, they have to slow down and then cause a jam. It is a choice that you want have a 70 miles/h by surrendering your 500-feet front space or you want a 5 mil/h stop-and-go by surrendering no space. Only one or two people taking the 500-feet rule can change traffic dramatically, I did it on I-635 in Dallas 10 years ago, it was good. Anyone agree with me please start acting & spreading the words. Together, we can change the world.
