Enforce the law that deems illegal the use of a Social Security Number for a purpose other than Social Security.

Created by R.K. on January 27, 2013

A Social Security Number ("SSN") is a unique identification number commonly being abused by employers and commerce. The SSN is being used as a general purpose identification, often times to register with a doctor, open a department store account, or it is the initial password to log onto websites to access, insurance forms; bank accounts, employment records, etc. People are recording their SSN to open purchasing accounts on websites. The Government and Social Security Administration admonishes us to protect our SSN and yet does nothing to stop the practice requiring clients, customers and employees to release their SSNs in order to obtain services or access information. The Government must enforce the use of a SSN solely for Social Security purposes.
