The basis of this petition is to ask the United States Government to crack down on drunk driving laws.
In the UK and Australia, automobile fatalities that involve deaths from drunk driving are substantially lower than the United States.
In the UK, 12% of all fatal car crashes involved drunk driving in 2010. 380 people were killed that year in the UK.
In the U.S., 31% of all fatal car crashes involved drunk driving in 2010. In 2010, children deaths alone (ages 0-14) in the U.S. was at 211 because of drunk driving.
If we can get the United States government to adopt a law that will be more strict to drunk drivers and punish repeat offenders like those of the United Kingdom and Australia, our nation would become a safer and happier place.
