Enforce mandatory drug testing for all welfare recipients immediately to greatly reduce abuse and fraud in the system.

With a failing economy it is more important than ever to find ways to save taxpayer money from being wasted. Making drug testing mandatory for all welfare recipients would greatly reduce the abuse and fraud in the welfare system. Many welfare recipients are drug addicts who are using taxpayer funds to buy illegal drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. Also, this would help get innocent children out of bad homes where the parent(s) are drug addicts. They can either enter the foster care system or the parent(s) can enter a rehabilitation program and get the help they need. Being able to identify this abuse would also help people get clean and re-enter the work environment and be a contributing member of society instead of a leach on the system.
