The Confederate has been flying at the state house of South Carolina since 1962. Originally on top of the state house, in 2000 it was moved to the ground in front of the building. While not as egregious as on top of the state house, it is still offensive to not only the African-American community, but the state as well. While we understand it is an important piece history for the state and country, it is no longer politically correct or acceptable to fly it in front of the state house. This flag has caused numerous issues with the NAACP and NCAA, affected the states financial revenue.
